Scriptures Text

Mark 3: 23, 27

23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

We find it significant that before anyone can take over any home he must first bind the strong man of the house.

Satan's goal is to bind the strong man of the home. The strong family man, pastors, and leaders of the church, even our country which is in trouble because Satan has gotten in and is dividing her. We are the brink of destruction because we have forgotten what we’ve been taught and that is; United we stand, Divided we fall.

But who is that strong man referred to in the Bible?

1 Cor 11: 3
3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

And this is the order of things as God has left for us to follow. And man as the husband and dad, is the father in the physical and spiritual since and as such, is the head of the home and leader of the home and that's his job. He is the head and over the wife and children.

1 Timothy 2: 8, 13 vs 11-12 key verse

8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

Timothy was the pastor of that church in Ephesus and he was told that as that pastor of the church not to let the women to have authority over man. Now that word usurp in our scripture means to take authority or take or assume power

The woman who takes authority over the man is not scriptural or permissible and so it should be in the homes. Christ should be the head; Man should be subordinate to Christ; and the wife should be submissive to her husband. And that is what scriptures teach. Now this may not be politically correct and many people would argue with that and they can have at it and you can argue all you want to; but the Bible has made it perfectly clear that the spiritual leader of the church should be a man, the spiritual leader of the home should be the husband and that there is a chain of command.

But Satan will try and refute God’s Bible and his goal is to bind the strong man; the leader of the family but the man has a spiritual responsibility to his wife to his children and to his home. The man is supposed to be under the submissive leadership of the Lord Jesus Christ as guided by the Holy Spirit. But Satan wants to bind the man which in turn will allow him, Satan, to overtake the family and the man will not be able to protect his family from him.

Proverbs 14: 26, 27

26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

This strong confidence is for the man and he should have a confidence in the Lord and even so should the wife have a confidence in her husband. She should be confident that her husband loves her and will be careful to watch out for her; to defend her and take up for her not only physically but confident that no one would be allowed to hurt her. And she knows that her husband is a good man and will protect her. She has peace in her heart knowing that her husband is spiritual and following Christ and she desires to follow him as he is following Christ. And what does our Bible verse say about the children?

Well, as the family follows in this chain of command the children will feel confident in their home and it will be a place of refuge for them. When they have problems at school and their day has gone all wrong and they were bullied or threatened after school they know when they get home they will be safe and have confidence in that security of their home and protection of their family. No matter where they go to in the world, they know that they have this refuge of safety at home. And this is the way it should be as the man takes his role as head of the family and as the spiritual leader and protector; Yes, the man lovingly provides this feeling of safety and this place of refuge for his family... And all of this he does because of his and his family's faith in God.

A good example of this is found in;

Job. 1; 1 - 5 - 7, 10

1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

Job loved his family. He loved his wife and he loved his children. He sacrificed for them, he prayed for them. Not just once in awhile but continually. What a wonderful example for husbands and dads to consider as we strive in being faithful to God.

7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Satan is always walking about seeking whom he may devour. Satan is always looking for a home, a family, or a nation to destroy and keep away from God or keep from following God.

8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Satan said; God you have put a hedge around Job to protect him and keep him safe and God does not dispute that claim Satan has made. God agrees with him because the Bible says that Job 'was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.' Yes Job loved and feared God and he hated evil and wouldn't have anything to do with evil. And God blessed Job for his faithfulness. And you all know how God dropped the hedge for awhile and Satan tried destroying everything about Job, but to no avail as causing Job to turn from God. Job was faithful and God double blessed him after the failure of that evil one.

But now Satan is destroying my America. Satan has brought his porn, his ungodly movies, TV, gambling, and entertainment devices. He has brought in drugs to destroy our moms and dads, and our children. Homes are broken by divorce and have lost the fathers of the home which has taken away their spiritual leader. Single moms trying to raise the children and work to provide at the same time leaving the gap of family values as children are left to the onslaught of Satan and his sin filled imps. And it is so hard for these loving moms who now have to both the mom and the dad. And this is hard because children need that balance of both parents. So if you are a single mom out there today the best advice I can give you is to place your trust in God and teach you children to do the same. Take them to church so they can grow.

Now all I know for you dads on this Fathers Day is to remain faithful to God. Love your wives and show that love every day. Do little things which make her happy or ease her day. Take her out and have a nice dinner with her… And don’t work so hard trying to have THINGS which don’t amount to anything without someone to share them with. And most important, take time to play with the children. Talk to them and show interest in what they like and be involved with and in their activities. Turn off the TV and all the little gizmos and sit with your family in the evening for a little while at the kitchen table and talk and read the Bible together. It will make you as dad and spiritual leader a stronger Christian and help the family to better understand the need for God everyday.

My goodness folks, The time just slips away so fast, doesn’t it? I do pray that you’ve enjoyed today’s message and I do so look forward to having you come again next week – Same Time, Same Station - as together we praise, honor, and worship Our Heavenly Father and His Son, Our precious Saviour, Jesus.

May the angels watch over you this next week and may Our Heavenly Father fill your hearts in His love and give you the victory in Jesus.

Bro. Jim
