Teaching outline on the Key of David ‘The Authoritative Key’
Kindly note that, this is not a message in itself but an outline to a message that should be developed upon on the subject
Understanding the concept of the key of DAVID WILL CHANGE YOUR PRAYER LIFE and bring you to the understanding of the authority you have to lock and to unlock in every situations of Life.
I strongly believe that God will touch you.
You’ve got the key ‘THE KEY OF DAVID’. Yes, be opened….’Ephphatha!’
By the time you’ve got through this outline, and then you will pray like this:
Let your prayer pattern change. Prayer in and with authority, here is it:
In the merciful Name of Jesus, I stand upon authority of my kingship and upon power in the name of Jesus; I command every closed door to… (name them) to be opened, because God have handed over to me the authoritative key ‘THE KEY OF DAVID’ that answers to every doors of life whether to lock or to unlock, so therefore I declare this day let that door BE OPENED! BE OPENED! BE OPENED... Ephphatha! Ephphatha! Amen.
This prayer pattern carries authority and power, your testimony is the next.

Text: Revelation 3:7-8, Ecclesiastics 8:4
‘…He who has the key of David…’
Where the word of a king there is power...
By the grace of God I will be sharing with you an outline message of the Key of David.
ILLUSTRATION
In every house building there is always a door that leads to the main building. Have you ever asked why the door. I discovered that a door is always provided in order to keep safety, to avoid intruder and to keep privacy. A door can be shut and can be closed, as door is always closed or shut against and a key obeys such instruction.
From the above, there is a DOOR that LEADS INTO and a DOOR can be SHUT or CLOSED AGAINST and a KEY obeys such instruction.
WHAT IS A DOOR?
· Process of gaining an access to an entrance.
· A material or object that can limit one progress or stand against one entrance.
WHY A DOOR?
A door is always provided to achieve the following:
· To limit one entrance.
· For safety.
· For progress (against)
WHAT IS A KEY?
· A small specially shaped piece of metal that you put into a LOCK and turn in order to LOCK or UNLOCK.
· A key is used for a lock.
A key is always shaped (formed) to open a lock. A key is capable of locking or unlocking.
Ok, let’s start teaching now!
He who is Holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David… Rev. 3:7.
The possession of the key of David all start from identifying the source. Jesus ‘He (I am) has the key of David’. Jesus is the source, the key.
In Matthew 25:10-12 and Luke 13:25, Jesus was the door and has the key to lock and to unlock. He opens the door only to those He recognizes, those that recognize with Him.
In order for us to be in possession of the key, we must identify with Him (in Holiness and true). God deliver the key to us based on our works, ‘I know your works.’ The works of men can wrath a closed or opened door. But praise God we are Christian, the key was delivered to us on the cross even while we are still sinners, He said ‘And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and what you…’ Matt. 16:19’.
As a believer, God has handed over the keys to us. In Ecclesiastic 8:4, the word the king speaks is the answering key to all doors (that is the power). For a great and effective door has opened to me.
The devil has been/has deprived many of us from enjoying open door. ‘…and there are many adversaries. 1 Cor. 16:9b)”. But God said in my favor will I have mercy on you, therefore your gates shall be opened continually.
You will discover in Matthew 16:19… He said I will give you the keys, there is a key that open kinds of doors, that means to every situations of men there is a key that opens (answers) it.
- A key opens the prison gate.
- A key opens the answer to a prayer.
- A key opens door to fruitfulness (out of bareness).
- A key answers all doors.
Some door requires us to knock to be opened even when we have the key. Luke 11:9-10.
You may ask why some doors are not opened to some key. Hear me, key ‘A’ can not open door ‘B’, only key ‘A’ can open door ‘A’ and vice-versa. When God is giving all to us keys, it means we don’t have all the keys in our possession; He said ‘I will give…’
Yes, as a Christian we are in possession of keys but not all keys. May I introduce you to a master key, THE KEY OF DAVID? It opens all doors ‘THE KEY OF DAVID’.
Jesus Christ is the master of the house and He gives the key to whom He want and pleases to enjoy the blessing of the House. Luke 13:25.
When I say the key of David that is Jesus Himself, then you may ask ‘don’t I have Him in my life?’ yes, you have Him. But the Bibles says ‘I will give to the Holy and true, the key of David.’
It will interest you to know that when the doors/widows/heaven… is opened, blessing comes down. Amen.
WHAT IS THE KEY OF DAVID?
The key of David is simply our Word of authority in Christ Jesus. A key (word) has been given unto us to open our doors. A key now can be liken/seen as the word of authority we have in Christ Jesus and the door is to be seen as our life circumstances or life demands/questions.
The key of the house of David I will lay on his (you) shoulder; so he shall open and no one shall shut; and he shall shut, and no one shall open. Isaiah 22:22
In Acts 19:13, the seven son of sceva don’t have the word of authority, why? Because the word (key) that is, Jesus did not recognize them (Luke 13:25)
WHO IS IN OPERATION?
God is in operation ‘He shall, I will lay the key on your shoulder… and therefore your gates shall be open continually…’ It is God desire that we operate in open heaven.
HOW CAN WE OPERATE IN OPEN DOOR?
- Recognizing the source.
- Identifying with the source.
- Locate a word- key that answers all questions.
- Declare your authority.
I introduce you further to having the key of David, which depends on your level of relationship with God (the source). ‘…to the Holy and true…’
TOOLS THAT OEPNS DOOR
- Prayer opens the door. Luke 3:21, Acts 5:19, Colossians 4:3.
- Mercy opens the door, Isaiah 60:10-11.
- Word of authority opens the door, Mark 7:34, Act 7:56.
- The works of our hand opens the door, Rev. 3:8.
- Praises opens the door, Act 16:25-27.
- Our need opens the door, Act 10:11b T
- Testimonies open the door, Act 14:27.
- Our obedience opens the door.
- God himself opens doors to men to fulfill His purpose, 2 Cor. 2:12.
We can operate under:
- Open windows, Malachi 3:10.
- Open gates, Nah. 2:6
- Open doors, Rev. 3:7.
- Open heaven, Act. 10:11, Gen. 7:11.
- Open hand
And a key answer to them all.
OTHERS NOTE ON OPEN DOOR
- The authoritative key (The key of David).
- Walking in the pathway.
- The prerequisites of open door.
- Kind of doors.
- Understanding the pathway.
- The door before us.
The above are not treated in this outline, but are other important note/message on the Key of David.
SUMMARY
- The key of David is an authoritative key: it answers to all doors.
- There is a pathway that leads to the door/even to the throne.
- There are prerequisite to every door- Holy and true.
- Not all doors can be opened and not all open doors one should walk in. (be sensitive).
- You have to understand the operations in the pathway.
- Be sensitive to the doors set before you.
Conclusion: There is so much insight on this message, but I do hope this will help out as the Holy Spirit will open our eye and mind of understanding.
